adidas released a collection for Canada despite not being a technical sponsor After Jonathan David's protests against Nike, the German brand launched a major attack

A few weeks ago, in the Austrian Franz Horr stadium, where Canada won by two goals to zero against Qatar, Jonathan David's stance was discussed. After scoring the second goal, he deliberately covered the Nike logo with his hands, guilty of not having made a new shirt for the forthcoming World Cup. A protest that must not have gone unnoticed in the adidas offices in Herzogenauraura, so much so that the German brand has decided to release a vintage collection, which presents different types of sweatshirts and jerseys. adidas has been a sponsor of the Canadian national team three times over the years, from 2010 to 2000, for just one year in 1992 and finally the three stripes have also dressed the selection in the 1970s and 1980s, when it was not yet possible to put their logo on a football shirt.

A collection from adidas that sounds more like a big attack on its long-time competitor, Nike. As stated in fact, both the swoosh and the Canadian federation did not actually think that the national team could qualify and therefore no designer has been involved in thinking of a new jersey for the next World Cup in Qatar. The national team will take to the field with the jerseys seen in recent years during the various qualifiers and friendlies in which Alphonso Davis and his teammates have imposed themselves on the other selections, winning a place in the first World Cup played in winter.
