Maccabi Haifa played in a training jersey A more or less forced choice, to avoid problems in the pitch

Once again, in addition to exciting goals and action, the Champions League also brings us big surprises in terms of kits. While some clubs have already had to change their kits such as Ajax and Inter due to UEFA's stringent aesthetic regulations, yesterday Maccabi Haifa took to the pitch in their training jersey in Turin against Juventus. The green jersey of the Israeli club is in fact not among the kits presented this season, but is one of many kits of the American brand with the template 'Academy Pro' from the training line. The motivation is obvious, the Israeli team wanted to avoid any problems with the colours on the pitch, opting for a monochrome jersey and completely opposite to Juventus' rather than the green and white home kit.

Like Napoli on Tuesday night against Ajax, presenting themselves with unseen kits is becoming customary in the Champions League, some out of necessity, some out of markenting. But beyond necessity, all these cases added to last season's should convince UEFA to revise its complex rules on kits to allow designers and clubs more freedom.
