The key concept of the project by François de La Serre, one of the architects of Architecte DLPG, is "a red and white boat in an ocean of green". Located on the Atlantic Ocean, the Stade Brestois 29, known simply as Brest, will finally have a new 15,000-capacity stadium. A few days ago the first renderings were presented and now the French club is already thinking about laying the first stone. The foundation stone will not be laid until 2024, but the stadium will be ready by 2026, the French club confirmed. The project will cost 85 million euros and should be paid for mostly by private funding. The new facility which will resemble a boat will replace the Stade Francis-Le Blé, a stadium in which Brest have been playing for over 70 years and will be permanently decommissioned after the move.

A distinguishing feature of the new stadium, as has been said, is that it will be very green. There will be six pylons positioned on the stands behind the goals, wind turbines on the first ones and the roof will be covered by 8000 m² of photovoltaic panels, making the Brest stadium one of the greenest and most ecological in the world. This is not the first time that the French club has presented a modern and innovative project to renovate its stadium, but many years ago the project fell into oblivion, now the club seems to be serious about leaving its historic home, where they have been playing for 72 years.
