Milan recalls the roots of the club with a collection dedicated to the 1995/96 season Nostalgia proves to be a trend increasingly ridden by clubs in their commercial and branding strategy

That after years of great acceleration towards the future, with minimal and aseptic designs, more and more clubs are rediscovering the power of nostalgia in their collections, especially in those dedicated to lifestyle. Vintage jerseys, linked to happy and iconic moments of the team, have become increasingly sought after and collectible by fans and enthusiasts. For this reason, AC Milan has announced the launch of the special 1996 collection, dedicated to a glorious year for the Rossoneri. AC Milan won the fifteenth Scudetto in its history, the fourth in five years with Fabio Capello on the bench and the first in the era of the three points. But it was also the first year in which Serie A regulated the game uniforms, with surnames behind the back and a fixed numbering, effectively kicking off the modernization of the jerseys as we know them today.

"Almost 30 years after that iconic season," the statement reads, "which saw the Rossoneri triumph on the field, a tribute to the more than 500 million Rossoneri fans around the world, but also a must-have item for all fans of the latest lifestyle trends." The jerseys have been re-proposed trying to update what was an innovative look at the time and made them a cult item for fans, so much so that they still match perfectly even with the most modern outfits. The collection presents the first shirt, the red one, worn on April 28, 1996, when Milan was crowned champions of Italy with a home victory against Fiorentina; the second, white, one of the most popular in the history of the Rossoneri and the third, yellow, which had already entered the hearts of all Milan fans in the previous season thanks to the triumph in the European Super Cup.
