Chelsea is for sale This was made official by Blues president Roman Abramovich in a statement

"I would like to address the speculation in the media over the last few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea. As I have already stated, I have always made decisions with the best interests of the Club at heart. In the current situation, therefore, I have made the decision to sell as I believe this is in the best interests of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the sponsors and partners."

With these words, Roman Abramovich today confirmed the various rumours that have been going around in recent days, the Blues' president will leave the presidency of the club after more than 20 years, in one of the most successful periods in Chelsea's history. The Russian tycoon has also confirmed that he will not keep the proceeds from the sale of Chelsea for himself but they will all be donated to a charity for the victims of the ongoing war in Ukraine. And in the statement Abramovich also expressed a final wish (yet another confirmation of the fact that he will leave everything) that probably cannot be fulfilled given the latest events: "I hope I can be present for the last time at Stamford Bridge to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of my life to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its fans will always be in my heart."

There are of course already many candidates who want to win the team that a few weeks ago won the World Cup for clubs, one has already come out in the open is Hansjörg Wyss. The Swiss billionaire in an interview for a German newspaper said he was willing to take over the club, but not at the prices requested by Abramovich, who is in a hurry to sell. On the other hand, Hansjörg Wyss knows that time can be his great ally given the critical situation in which the Russian tycoon is currently. We will see what will happen but it is now official the end of the Abramovich era that after 20 years of great victories and defeats will leave the club.
