Football and photography, the Venezia FC Artists-in-Residency project continues Eric Scaggiante will be the second protagonist of the project created to discover new views of Venezia FC and the city

Last year Venezia FC inaugurated a programme of artistic residencies, once again proving to be a step ahead of the other teams. Another proof, after the various collaborations for the city born with the new jerseys, that attests and underlines the attention that the lagunari reserve to culture, to the city and to the territory and the continuation of the Artists-in-Residency project is the testimony of it. The "VFC AiR" is an international residency programme for artists whose mission is to tell the story of the relationship between football and the city, between football culture and popular culture in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Last year the protagonist was Ethan White, the American and former MLS professional footballer, the same photographer who edited the photographic book about the 20/21 season and the Digital Cover N.01 of nss sports. This year it will be Eric Scaggiante's turn, a promising Venetian street photographer who will be stationed inside and outside the gates of Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium during the matches, telling through his lens the story of the city and the passion of the fans in a historic year for the team, that of the return to Serie A after 19 years. At the end of the season Venezia FC will collect all his shots in a publication.

Despite the fact that the Venetian photographer is not a regular fan, Venezia has decided to bet on him, confident that Eric Scaggiante with his attitude will be able to tell what people do in their daily lives, perfectly immersing himself in the reality of those who go to the stadium. And the first few shots show his talent and unique sensitivity for human behaviour, a quality as underlined by the club itself that allows him to capture reality in its rawest version, and this through images that take the form of captivating, sometimes ironic, and sometimes uncomfortable shots.
