Will Adidas change its logo for the World Cup in Qatar? Could remove the lettering from its logo on national team kits and leave only the three iconic diagonal stripes

According to various rumors adidas will arrive at the World Cup in Qatar next November 21 with a new logo on their jerseys, removing the company name and leaving only the logo with the three stripes diagonally. The removal of the lettering represents a subtle but important innovation for the German company, which is following the path of minimalism already explored by many of its competitors and is betting everything on the iconic power of the three stripes.

The new logo is expected to appear on the training kits of Germany, Spain and Mexico, and in all likelihood also on the game uniforms. However, it is not yet clear if this change will also become real on club kits, as the dates of this World Cup do not allow it to be debuted during the competition and immediately afterwards used on the jerseys of adidas-sponsored teams. Eventually such may then be made from the 2022/23 season or for some third or fourth jerseys made in late 2022.

In any case, adidas wants to return to be the technical sponsor of reference in the world and keep at a distance the many brands that in recent years have gained space and visibility. Revamping its logo could be the first step.
