30 stories of footballers who started from the bench and became decisive

Out-of-the-ordinary protagonists in the new Riserva di Lusso book

30 stories of footballers who started from the bench and became decisive Out-of-the-ordinary protagonists in the new Riserva di Lusso book

It is entitled "Riserve di Lusso. Storie dalla panchina" is the new book of "Riserva di Lusso", a journey into those narrow seats on which no player would ever want to sit, recounting the best reserves of the last thirty years. As the title suggests, the book, edited by Maria Luisa Spera and Cesare Milanti and the result of the work and cohesion of over thirty authors (to which is added the contribution of Giuseppe Pastore), tells the stories of those players who, despite the choices of their coaches, have still managed to emerge from their seats, sometimes decisively. There are stories from another football and another Serie A that tell the interesting stories of Massaro, Totti and Del Piero before they became the players we all remember, but there is also the story of Muriel, an almost permanent reserve in Gasperini's line-up but always able to come in and turn the game in his favour.

A book that was created to glorify the reserves, players who for obvious reasons are not on the cover of the newspapers, do not move sensational figures and do not sell many shirts. Thirty chapters created to pay homage to the stories of extraordinary players. Stories of substitutes who are often underestimated but who are able to decide a match just a few minutes before the referee's triple whistle, like Ole Gunnar Solskjær. Stories of wingmen who earn the prize of best player on the pitch by taking advantage of the few opportunities available to them, such as Douglas Costa, fundamental players for every team that aspires to conquer important positions. A book to discover those players who were born with the label of reserve on their shoulders and who have shaped entire careers on it.
