The NFL enters the metaverse with a Roblox store  It's not the first time but this time seems to be a long stay

Since last weekend, which hosted the 11th round of the Regular Season, the NFL (National Football League) has opened its virtual store on the gaming platform Roblox, effectively entering the metaverse. Now Football fans will finally be able to buy jerseys and helmets of their favorite teams in the AFC (American Football Conference) division, while they will have to wait until tomorrow, December 1st, for teams playing in the NFC (National Football Conference). For a limited time, a free 3D helmet will also be available for each player.

The store is created with the help of developer Melon, who recently created his first game within the metaverse, Jump Kingdoms, and who has already created other stores and virtual music shows on Roblox. For the NFL, this is just the first teaser of a larger project that will see the light of day in 2022 and open a new era for the most followed sports league in the USA. Already in previous years, the platform and the league had collaborated first in 2018 with a limited series of helmets while the following year, for the 100th anniversary of the NFL, it was made possible to buy bundles and emotes inspired by the 32 teams. And also in 2018 the NFL skins on Fortnite was sold for a 50 million dollars total. 


Roblox, on the other hand, opens another space dedicated to fans of sports and sports brands after the inauguration last week of Nikeland, the virtual gaming arena inspired by the headquarters of Beaverton open to all where you can play mini-games or dress your avatar with the most beautiful pieces of the company with the swoosh. 

A revolution to which not even fashion has remained cold given the results obtained by Balenciaga on the gaming and NFT market and by Gucci, which just a few days ago opened its own shop on Roblox with great success.
