Hellas Verona and Macron have officially presented the new home shirt for the season inspired both by the city and by none other than Dante Alighieri. The poet, exiled from Florence, found hospitality within the walls of Verona, a fitting tribute given that 2021 marks the 700th anniversary of his death. The new Hellas Verona shirt features an embossed design on the front and back that recalls the detail of the Arche Scaligere gate, a mausoleum that contains not only the history of the city but also its most famous symbol, that of the Della Scala family. The jersey is obviously a blue round-neck knit with yellow inserts, while the most unusual detail is on the inner jersey bottom, where the phrase: "ch'in te avrà così benigno riguardo" taken from Canto XVII of Paradise.

This is not the first time that Macron has paid homage to the great poet. Last year, together with Ravenna and Edoardo Kobra, they created a shirt with Dante's profile, inspired by Botticelli's famous portrait. But in general, Hellas Verona have managed to create match kits that tell and enhance the close bond that exists between the city and Dante Alighieri, elegantly blending several elements, officially standing as one of the most beautiful jerseys of the 2021-22 season.
