The celebrative Argentina shirt dedicated to Maradona Tribute night for D10S: statue and special patch

While Europe is warming up with the latest pre-EURO 2020 friendlies, the world qualifying matches that precede the start of the Copa América are played in South America. During the night Argentina-Chile was played in the brand new Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades (inaugurated on 4 March 2021) and it was the first match played by the Albiceleste since the death of Diego Armando Maradona, a symbol and a hero for everyone in Argentina. Beyond the 1-1 final, the evening was full of tributes to the best player of all time: on the new adidas shirt - with camouflage stripes - a patch with a photo of Diego and with the inscription "1960- ∞" to enhance the legacy of the Pibe de Oro.

Even before the initial whistle, the team gathered in the square outside the stadium to inaugurate the statue dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona. Again, the AFA has decided to pay homage to the # 10 of Napoli and Argentina with the eternity of his greatness. A detail not captured by all the media present in a stadium that is still totally empty is that of the back of the jersey. The back of the celebrative jersey had, in fact, the number 10 (worn by everyone in the pre-match) filled with a photo of Diego, while the part dedicated to the name still showed "1960- ∞". At the bottom the hashtag "ETERNAMENTE #GraciasDiego".
