The AC Milan 2021-22 home kit by PUMA With a design inspired by the iconic red and black stripes

PUMA and AC Milan have just presented the new home kit for the 2021-22 season. A kit that embodies the history of the Rossoneri club, divided between past and future, between new generations of fans and the nostalgia of the Devil's golden days, between the importance of off-the-pitch and attention to performance aspects. of a modern shirt. The design reinterprets the iconic stripes of AC Milan, present on the uniform since 1899, the year the club was founded. The vertical bands are of different depth and symmetrical to each other, incorporating three different types that have made AC Milan's kits immortal.

As always, the details make the difference from an aesthetic point of view: on the one hand the writing "Sempre Milan" on the back of the collar - almost as if it were a reminder for the players every time they wear the shirt - and on the other a unusual chromatic switch of shorts and socks, which go from white to black. Only three times in Rossoneri history, the home kit featured black at the bottom: from 2000 to 2002 and in the 2004-05 and 2016-17 seasons. Paolo Maldini seems to have played a fundamental role in this stylistic choice, as admitted by Francesca Scarpa, brand manager of the club.

Last year's inspiration was the architecture of Milan and the floor design of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele ll, while from next year there will be a much simpler and cleaner pattern but still full of meaning. AC Milan launches the kit through the #MoveLikeMilan campaign, reflecting how the jersey - designed a year and a half ago - is inspired by "the speed, growth, innovation and ever-changing culture of the city of Milan", as recalls Agnesa Hoxha, the PUMA Football Product Manager who followed the creative process of the jersey. The combination of history and modern elements that come together to create a jersey that will accompany Milan in the season of the new consecration.

But there is more than #MoveLikeMilan. The shirt was previewed by Melissa Satta in the company of Francesca Scarpa, Agnese Hoxha and two Milan players such as Verónica Boquete e Laura Fusetti. The drive towards female football empowerment is one of the pillars of "She Moves Us", the platform that celebrates and inspires women who come together to team up and achieve a goal through sport, values and culture. The women's team will be the first to wear the new kit on Saturday against Sassuolo, while Milan will take the field on Sunday evening at San Siro against Sassuolo for their league debut.

The new AC Milan Home kit will be available, from 11 May, online at PUMA.com, in PUMA Stores, in the official AC Milan stores, store.milan.com and at selected retailers around the world.
