Can the porn industry enter the world of football? Inter Milan is referred to have a live streaming webcam website for the next season

There has been a lot of talk this week about Inter Milan's possibility to have a pornography company on their shirt next season as a sponsor. According to some voices, this is Stripchat, a live-streaming webcam platform (which also offers cryptocurrency payment methods), which would have offered the Nerazzurri a contract of 23 million euros per season. An offer of more than 19.1 million euros from Pirelli, which in recent weeks has confirmed the definitive departure from the playing uniform. Between the first place in Serie A and the rumors about new potential investors, Inter fans are also thinking about what it might be like in reality to have a porn company on the shirt. 

The team would be the first football club to have a porn site as a main partner on its uniforms, although, on an amateur level, the University of Kent football team had already tried it in 2014. The players had made a sponsorship attempt with PornHub, but the university's top management did not agree to have that logo on the jerseys and, after printing them, they had to delete the logo from the uniforms – Porn Hub, however, had agreed to sponsor them. In Italy, on the other hand, PornHub had said in 2015 that it wanted to sponsor a sporting reality (football, basketball or volleyball) to get closer to the Community of Italian fans, and in the end, the company managed to put the brand on the jerseys of a men's water polo team and a women's football team, both from Varese. In 2019, the Swiss team Servette advertised the championship match against young boys via a video on PornHub. That was a marketing operation much criticized because it was accused (among other things) of pushing people to go to a porn site, but if such a video is on a platform or public site, shareable, downloadable and above all legal: but is it so discriminating to have a porn site on a football shirt? 

In recent years, society is opening up more and more to customs clearance of the porn world. It is considered a highly-used industry, there are actors, phonics, technicians and directors; it is a cinematic universe with its own aesthetics and an increasing audience (on PornHub more than 140 million visitors per day). To this are added platforms such as OnlyFans, declinations of the porn world, moreover increased by the consequences of coronavirus such as social distancing and quarantine. Advertisements for sites like these appear in Times Square in New York, tinder ads in subways; a few years ago, PornHub had also opened a temporary store in Milan. 

Given its strong presence in contemporary society, as was written on nss sports for Tinder, the porn industry is an industry that should be exploited and with which football could usher in a dialogue. If Inter were to have a hot brand on their shirt, in addition to breaking an important wall in football such as that of the relationship with pornography, this would also contribute to a further softening of society towards the porn industry, webcam encounters, erotic chats and anything that can express a red light brand. The club would use its tone of voice to normalise the relationship of the club and the fans towards this sector. 

If Manchester City linked their name to Tinder - an online dating app with a billionaire turnover -, there would be nothing outrageous if Inter (or any other team) did so with other erotic brands. From the point of view of safety and health, the campaign that is being waged in England against the presence of mesh betting sponsors to combat ludopathy makes much more sense. 

Football, with its popularity and success, has been said to be a vehicle for support for important causes, such as racism or sustainability. If it's true that football teams echo around certain topics, why couldn't they do it with a theme like porn?
