There is an online course to learn to design football kits With Craig Buglass and Rob Warner as tutors

It's called Football Kit Design, and it's a course for those who want to learn how to design football jerseys (say professors, "like those of big clubs"). Rob Warner and Craig Buglass are two sports design professionals, both with years of work for both Nike and PUMA and UMBRO, and their idea was to open through the Spark Design Academy (a digital design school) a course entirely dedicated to football jerseys, with different registration packages and the possibility to propose personal projects - themed - to the two tutors of the course.

Like many other digital projects launched in the last year, the course does not have a start date or a precise deadline. It is divided into seven steps, and the lessons, slides and videos are all downloadable and usable privately, without having to respect deliveries. In practice, those who register can give their own rhythm to the completion of the lessons. On the website, it is also specified that there is a prize for the best three projects presented at the end of the course: the first will be awarded a discount on the 50% share, and then, 25% and 10%. Projects can be proposed continuously, but there is no real examination or final thesis - the projects are at will. Costs, on the other hand, are variable, and depend on the package you choose. The full course costs £455, but GOLD (da 687,42€), SILVER (634,46€) e BRONZO (581,50€) can also be chosen. The variation in types depends on the number of coaching that each member wants to support with Warner and Buglass, so those who choose the course in gold version will have three private lessons with the two tutors, two silver and one for BRONZE. In addition, the first eleven subscribers will receive a discount.

The idea is precisely to learn and illustrate the method of design and color composition of football jerseys using the methodology of the big sports brands. On the other hand, both Warner and Buglass have experience in the sector: with over 40 works in sports design, both participated in the creation of the uniforms of Brazil World Champion in 2002 and Italy in 2006 (respectively with Nike and PUMA). We at nss had also launched a project on the women's jersey design kit, 'Women Do Football', documented in this reportage.
