The new New York City adidas kit is pretty similar to a Manchester City one

New York City F.C. has unveiled the new adidas jersey for the upcoming MLS season, which starts on April 3. The New York team is controlled by the City Football Group, which should explain why the new shirt - on the other hand, like those seen in recent years - is very similar to the models worn by Sterling and Aguero at Manchester City. In fact, the blue of the New York City template is the same shade as that of Manchester City, as it is similar to the Melbourne F.C. in Australia and the Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay. Even the logo is almost the same. But at least, this year, adidas designers have tried to make the kit a little more exclusive. 

The pattern is simple, with a choker and with the shot at the bottom, while the design of the shirt repeats the typical blue of the Yankee Stadium club, plus, the darker stripes in the background. On the trapeze and along the shoulders there are thick three stripes of adidas in white, a color that dominates - and that gives a somewhat vintage touch to the shirt - which is also found on the adidas logo and on the edge of the sleeves and on the crew neck. In addition, on the back of the collar there is the logo of the City of New York. For shades of colors and templates, it is a bit reminiscent of last season's City celebratory shirt, sported during the Charity Shield final in August 2019 and designed on the inspiration of the old models of the English club. 

The New York club also presented the Away model, the Gotham Kit, with a completely different template: all blue, it has adidas stripes on its right shoulder and an oblique band pattern. The club's website states that it is dedicated to the "frenetic New York lifestyle".
