A must-see documentary about Adriano is coming The story of The Emperor soon on your screens

In April 2019, Adriano Leite Ribeiro announced a documentary about his life but nothing has been released since. But at the Virtual Natpe in Miami, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) previewed future strategies and programs and among these stands out a title above all: "Adriano The Emperor". The emperor will therefore have a documentary that narrates the deeds of one of the most devastating players in the history of Serie A, one of the first prototypes of 2.0 strikers who combined talent, physical strength and technical skills.

The broadcaster's goal is to make documentaries and films designed primarily for streaming. In the note from the television group it is clearly understood that Italy represents a basin of creativity and a space of opportunity for local investments in original projects.

At the moment no details are known on the production and on a hypothetical release date, keeping the Nerazzurri fans in suspense but also those of Fiorentina, Parma and Rome. Adriano arrived in Italy in 2001 thanks to an intuition of Massimo Moratti. He made his debut in Seria A on September 9 in Parma - the team for which he will play from 2002 to 2004 - but his first goal (match) came against Venezia. He will also wear the Viola shirt, in an unlucky season that led to the relegation of Fiorentina. In 2004 he returned to Inter and, also thanks to the absence of senators difficult to override in the hierarchies of the beginning of the millennium, he established himself as ruler of the area: he played 177 games with the Nerazzurri and scored 74 goals with 27 assists. He played alongside Vieri, Recoba, Martins, Ibrahimovic, Cruz, Crespo, among the most important strikers in the history of the club.

The 3 moments with Inter represent a large part of the career of the Hulk - nicknamed after the incredible goal against Udinese in 2004 - but in the 16 of activities there are also Flamengo, San Paolo, Corinthians, Atletico Paranaense, Miami United and AS Roma. It was not, however, a career made up only of great moments. In 2004, father Almir (44) died following the consequences of a shooting in which he was involved years before. This pain and this emptiness will cause Adriano to sink into alcohol several times and will cause torment both on and off the pitch. In 2018 he declared that he had repeatedly presented himself drunk to Inter training, due to a depressive state that was about to compromise his mental health. After recovering, he falls back into temptations that are not exactly legitimate: he is investigated in the autumn of 2014 for alleged involvement in drug trafficking. He was never convicted, but the photos circulating at the time told of an emperor completely out of control.

He plunges back into football, tries to get back on track but when he is forced to say enough to football, after having enchanted also with Seleçao, he returns to the favelas where he was born but it will not be a very happy moment. He returns to street life, with all that goes with it. He falls back but gets up again and also thanks to his incredible Instagram account we know that today he is a different man, a distant relative of that of 5-10 years ago. Today he is the commercial director of adidas Football Brasil, who has always worn the swoosh on the pitch.
