adidas releases a new edition of 1998 Predator Accelerator

A new total black edition of the iconic model

adidas releases a new edition of 1998 Predator Accelerator A new total black edition of the iconic model

In the last two years we have seen how in football there has been an overbearing return of vintage, so it's not surprising the choice of adidas to repropose the model of the Predator Accelerator of 1998. The pair of football shoes was one of the most iconic models thanks to the foot of David Beckham, who wore them for years, especially in his time at Manchester United, when that model became a football icon.

adidas has re-proposed the Predator Accelerators with two variants, one gaming and one outwear, with the rubber sole made in collaboration with Continental. The black coloring of the nineties has been re-proposed in the 'Core Black' version for the upper and in 'Grey Six' for the three stripes of the German brand, while the pattern is almost identical to the original, worked in leather and with the sole modified with modern technologies and materials and teeth for better adherence to the soil. The model is completed with the classic lace closure and elastic straps and, for the walking version, with a responsive BOOST intersole.

This template of boots marked a generation of players, of which Beckham was a source of inspiration on the pitch both for the style and for the way he played football. But other phenomena of the culture of football in the nineties have also popularized this model: a very young Del Piero, Zidane at the World Cup, Raul and Zidane with Real. Later, in the modern reworkings of this pair - especially in the version with white and red colors -, other more contemporary icons such as the brazilian Kakà and Xavi have also worn predators, one of the most representative adidas sports works ever.

The new adidas Predator Accelerator will be available from January 15th on adidas.com
