There will be a new Slam Dunk film But we don't know yet the official release date

Takeiko Inoue, a Japanese manga artist, has published a post on twitter announcing that the famous manga Slam Dunk will become a film. The release date and other details about the project are not yet known, but production company Toei Animation has officially confirmed the production of the animation film. The stassa production company has also opened a website about the Slam Dunk film.

Slam Dunk is a Japanese manga series first released in 1990 and produced until 1996. a series of anime from 131 episodes was also produced, only to stop at the behest of the author. The manga tells the story of a high school basketball team starring Hanamichi Sakuragi, a young bullet who attends high school in Shohoku, Kanagawa District. Another historical character is Haruko Akagi, a schoolgirl passionate about basketball who pushes him to join the school basketball team. It follows a compelling and very "high school" romantic story in basketball sauce.

Slam Dunk, which also had a lot of luck in Europe, was a very important piece for the spread of basketball in Japan and more generally in Asia. In Italy it was published by Panini Editore in the late 1990s. Four films have also been made.
