Arsenal F.C. will be the first Premier League club to follow the sustainability procedures of UN Sports, the UNITED Nations sports division. The Gunners, always attentive to the ecosystem with private initiatives, have announced several measures for energy saving and sustainable operations: a series of measures that make Arsenal one of the greenest teams in the world. Un Sports' goal is to contribute through sports communities to achieving climate-neutral by 2050, as required by the Paris Accords. In recent months many football clubs have started to deal with climate change by operating several sustainable initiatives, but Arsenal have always been attentive to environmental waste.

The measures presented by Arsenal include campaigns to raise awareness of the climate issue, reduce the carbon emissions of the sports company, and in general, promote communication leading to responsible actions towards the climate and indications on how to avoid waste and unnecessary consumption. It is a series of initiatives that make Arsenal the most sustainable club in the Premier League and the third in the UK to join UN Sports' plan after Forest Green Rovers (League Two) and Hiberian (Scottish Premiership). Arsenal have been spending a lot of attention on savings and sustainability for years, and the club's commitment has also increased from that of individual players. Hector Bellerin, among many things, is also a climate activist and strongly committed to raising awareness of environmental problems: in addition to planting 3000 trees for every Arsenal victory, he is also a shareholder of Forest Green Rovers, the most sustainable football club in the world.

Since 2016, the Gunners have used only renewable energy, but above all, in 1999, 29,000 trees were planted in colney's sports centre, creating Colney Wood, a small forest around the playing fields. In addition, during matches, there are no plastic glasses at the stadium, thanks to a system of reusable glasses and water supply. Colney also has many fountains to avoid the unnecessary use of plastic bottles, and with a particular drainage system, Arsenal manages to recycle 4.5 million litres of water a year from training camps.
