The new partnership between Umbro and Ireland national team

The new partnership between Umbro and Ireland national team

For the next six years Umbro will become the technical sponsor of the Ireland national team, guaranteeing technical material also to the women's and youth teams. The partnership between brand and FAI (Irish Football Federation) will start this year - as explained by Umbro - and will supply the various teams with gaming jerseys and training kits. The one between Umbria and Ireland is a partnership that is renewed given that the national clover team had worn the English brand from 1994 to 2017, leaving the sponsorship agreement to New Balance for three seasons.

Umbro's return to Dublin renews a typical aesthetic combination of football that has drawn part of the sporting history of the Irish national team and that has impressed the Irish jersey in the collective imagination for the last generations - in the first decade of the year 2000 also thanks to the historic sponsor 3 at the center of the uniform. Irish fans, compared to supporters and fans of other national teams, are iconic in coloring the stadium green when ireland play - usually at the futuristic Aviva Stadium in Dublin - and for more than two decades Shamrock has moved green patches around Europe in its wake. Those jerseys were signed by Umbro and the same became iconic thanks to a great figure of Irish football, Robbie Kean, author of 68 goals in 146 appearances with Ireland.
