In Marseille, southern France, rap is a reality rooted in the social fabric of the city. From Soprano to Keny Arkana and Alonzo, there are many rappers who have helped to build a rap scene in the city French, which now, among many independent labels, I will also have a major. Olympique Marseille has launched its own record label, OM Records, and will release exclusively rap albums. Marseille's intention is to grow the local music scene, promoting the talent of young talents of the city and in general of the South of France. The label will be produced in half by OM and half by BMG, the German multinational's music label.

Signs that the Provence club was approaching the music had already appeared as sub-signs. On August 6th, the British rapper Hardy Caprio - former member of the BMG stable - had posted on YouTube the video of his latest track 9 Lives: the footage was filmed inside the Velodrome stadium in Marseille and wearing the first OM jersey. In addition, in the aftermath of the creation of the label, the new purchase of Marseille Luis Henrique was presented on social media with the graphics of a music album.

The first OM Records project will be Vendredi 13, a collection of songs by local rappers already involved by the OM Foundation for the release of OM La Compo, a musical project in which a song was produced during the lockdown months by those artists.
