The history of the German brand reinterpreted by designer Colm Dillane

The first football-inspired PUMA x KidSuper Studios collection The history of the German brand reinterpreted by designer Colm Dillane

PUMA and KidSuper Studios together for something special. The Brooklyn-based group of creative artists launches the first collaboration with the German brand, creating a collection that takes inspiration from the football legacy of PUMA and the football player past of KidSuper founder and designer Colm Dillane, combining energy and unbridled passion for football with the creativity and innovation of art. KidSuper Studios is known for its ability to transform streetwear and accessories through new interpretations of style, art, music and sport.

"The collaboration with PUMA was natural, I always looked for inspiration in football for all the products I made. What inspired me most was the story of PUMA, that's what made this collection so special. Collaborating with a brand that has over seventy years of experience in product design, one cannot forget the old images of Pelé winning a World Cup with PUMA shoes, this is inspiration. I want to create a brand that can have the same effect on iconic moments".
Colm Dillane, KidSuper Studios founder

The collection stands out for its retro design, color combinations and doodle aesthetics by "KidSuper Studios". The collection includes tailored jackets and pants, graphic t-shirts, sweaters, sport jackets, sweatshirts, accessories and sneakers. Some sketches have been handcrafted to decorate the PUMA x KidSuper tailored jacket and trousers. This football-inspired collection would not be complete without soccer jerseys: the two versions both feature stripes, with one featuring bold colors with overlapping taupe splashes, while the other features thinner black stripes.

The sneakers in the collection have an incomplete look with rough edges, exposed foam and zigzag stitching. The pops of color come from a mix of prints, scribbles and embroideries in a retro and multicolored palette. PUMA's Rider, Nitefox, Cell Dome Sock, Oslo City and Wilo styles received the KidSuper treatment.

To support the release of the collection, KidSuper Studios in collaboration with PUMA has created a limited animated series called "SCRAM". Featuring Usain Bolt, Héctor Bellerín, Jessie Reyez, Meechy Darko, Lolo Zouai, West Side Gun, and Lil Tecca, the 7-episode series tells the story and adventures in the city of three New Yorkers. Their lives change when they explore a secret laboratory under the neighborhood grocery store and are unknowingly exposed to superpowers that they will have to learn to use.
