Last night, with a video on their Instagram channel, Real Madrid presented the adidas third kit for the 2020/21 season. The new kit was officially revealed by Karim Benzema, who offered Blancos fans the chance to win the new shirt signed by him; later, this morning, Real published - both on Instagram and on Twitter - other photos of the new kit, with Sergio Ramos, Marco Asenjo, Marcelo and Benzema as testimonials.
As adidas explains, the shirt manages to provide coolness and dry to the players thanks to the HEAT.DRY - KEEP COOL technology present in the fabric - similarly, the replicas that can be purchased by fans on the stores will have the AEROREADY - FEEL READY system. The kit is black with a unique pattern in gray: the lines that draw Baroque motifs are a reference to the Azulejo decorations - artistic forms of Spanish-Portuguese origin - present in Madrid. The emblem, the sponsor Fly Emirates, the three adidas lines and the logo of the German brand are instead colored with a contrasting Spring Pink. It is not even the first time that pink has been seen on a Real Madrid kit: the second kit this season is total pink, and the same color is also on the first shirt in the detail of the three adidas stripes.
The opinions around the shirt have not yet highlighted any particular jolts. On Twitter, fans generally seem to have appreciated the fantasy of the new thid kit, which adidas, like other sportswear brands did this year, has created following a cultural trend, in this case with a specifically artistic pattern. After the releases of Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Milan and Barcellona - among the others - Real Madrid with this third kit links the values of the club with those of the tradition of its city.
