Shai has signed a sponsorship deal with Converse The young Thunder trendsetter is the new face for the American brand's relaunch in basketball

Just on the day the NBA starts to move again (the first teams arrived in Orlando to begin the post-lockdown training camp), Converse announces the signing of a young man who is destined to be talked about for the next decade: it is by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, 21-year-old Oklahoma City Thunder guard.

Converse Hoops therefore welcomes the Canadian after announcing the sponsorship of Draymond Green and Kelly Oubre Jr in just a few months, a whimsical character on the pitch as well as eccentric outside, so much as to have participated in the FW 2019 campaign of the Parisian brand Pigalle that, between other things, he has a special relationship with Converse.

''Gilgeous-Alexander's calm demeanor, complemented by his patient play, contributed to an impressive game improvement in the NBA. Off the field, he is a fashion enthusiast who finds harmony in designing clothing" say internal sources of the Converse marketing department.

For now, the details of the agreement have not yet been revealed but, knowing Shai and his passion for signature shoes and PE colorways, we must expect something impactful on the market. At the moment the sneakers made available by Converse are the G4, which will be worn by Green and the All Star Pro BB (High and Low) that we will see at the feet of Oubre Jr; we just have to wait for the resumption of the NBA championship in the Disneyworld "bubble" to see if the American brand has something special in store for their new talent.
