Electronic Arts and FIFA have announced the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 ''Stay and Play Cup'', as part of the ''Stay home, play together'' initiative, which brings together and encourages the sharing of creative content, live streaming and other ways to bring the football community together through game platforms. After the MotoGP Grand Prix, cycling competitions through Zwift and the 2K tournament between NBA players, football is also officially added to the disciplines that are trying to fill the void left by the ''sport played'' through gaming.

The EA SPORTS FIFA 20 "Stay and Play Cup" will consist of a one-on-one knockout tournament that will bring together 20 of the most famous and historic clubs in Europe that will meet at FIFA 20 from 15 to 19 April. The tournament will feature professional footballers chosen by numerous clubs including Ajax, AS Roma, Chelsea, FC Copenhagen, Liverpool, Porto and Real Madrid.

''We want to bring the global football community closer to the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Stay and Play Cup, so that millions of fans can experience the excitement of their favorite teams and professional footballers playing, even when we have to stay away'' said Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts. ''Through the ''Stay home, play together'' campaign, we are working to help people around the world find other ways to get together through gaming. Together with the contribution of the donations we are making, we hope to have a positive impact on people's lives in this difficult moment''.

The prize for the winner will be $ 1 million that EA will donate to Global Giving's Coronavirus Relief Fund to provide resources for frontline communities against COVID-19; The tournament will also offer fans and spectators the opportunity to donate and support global efforts to try and stop the spread of the virus.
