NBA players will participate in an official NBA 2K tournament The NBA 2K Tournament will begin on April 3rd and will be broadcast by ESPN

In light of the suspension of the NBA season due to the coronavirus, the league has collaborated with the NBPA (the players association) and the 2K production for the first "Tournament of NBA 2K players", with the aim of entertaining the fan. The tournament will see 16 different NBA players compete head-to-head in a knockout game at NBA 2K20 on Xbox One and the final winner will choose who to donate the $100,000 to be donated by the three organizing companies to charity.

"We are excited to partner with NBA and NBPA to bring basketball back to fans around the world and to help those in need in these uncertain times," said Jason Argent, senior vice president of 2K, Sports Strategy and Licensing. "Entertainment, especially sport, has the ability to bring communities together - including athletes, fans and families - and we hope everyone can enjoy the tournament."

The tournament will begin on April 3 at 19:00 ET and will be broadcast on both ESPN and ESPN2.
