Gucci is almost ready for the All Star Game 2020 Alessandro Michele pays homage to the NBA event with a pop up store and a capsule collection

With a decorated basketball with the iconic psychedelic GG monogram, a pop-up store in West Loop and even a themed placeholder that will appear on Google Maps, Gucci is also ready to kick off the All-Star Weekend NBA in Chicago.

Located at 160 North on Morgan Street, the pop-up store will present the GG Psychedelic collection which will be based on rainbow colors and which will include the exclusive ball in honor of the All-Star Weekend, on sale for $ 1,980.

The creative director Alessandro Michele took the GG logo and reinterpreted it in a much more streetwear version: the capsule, with a multicolored star motif, includes men's and women's clothes, shoes, bags and suitcases. The women's collection includes a dress with drawstring, a shirt and a skirt. For men, however, the sportswear collection includes a silk twill shirt and shorts, a long nylon windbreaker and a swimsuit.

Saturday at the pop-up store there will be NBA and WNBA athletes who will perform to help fundraising for two foundations in Chicago: After School Matters, a non-profit organization that every year offers the opportunity to 19,000 high school kids to attend an after-school program and Braven, which helps university students in the difficult transition from college to entry into the world of work.

The Chicago pop-up store, which will be open from February 14 to March 2, will be the third store to become part of the ''pin'' themed stores since Gucci launched the concept last November at Cherry Creek Shopping Center of Denver.
