The new NBA City Edition Jerseys All the uniforms presented so far for the 2019/2020 season

After those of the Los Angeles Clippers and the Houston Rockets (nss sports talked about them here and here), many NBA teams are unveiling their traditional 'City Edition Jerseys' for the current season, the special kits that pay homage to the cities where the NBA teams are located, with a different nicknames and color scheme. The first NBA game to feature a new 'City Edition' kit will be on November 20th when the Atlanta Hawks wear theirs at home against Milwaukee (the Spurs already wore their City design on Nov 11th, but just it’s the same as what they wore last season). The Memphis Grizzlies won't wear a City Edition uniform in 2019-20 season. Here are all the uniforms unveiled so far.

Atlanta Hawks

Inspired by Peachtree Street, the main street of Atlanta, the new Hawks's City Edition' jersey features the name of the street right across the chest.

Boston Celtics

Green with gold trim and Celtic-style font reading “BOSTON” in gold across the chest trimmed in black.

Brooklyn Nets

The City Edition feature the writing “Bed-Stuy” in a graffiti-like font. Bed-Stuy is a nickname for Bedford-Stuyvesant, the Brooklyn neighborhood known as a nexus of hip hop culture.

Charlotte Hornets

The uniforms share the bold CHA lettering on the chest. The main feature is honeycomb cell pattern on the sides, in reference to the club's nickname.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs are celebrating their 50th season as a franchise.

Chicago Bulls

The light blue is linked to Lake Michigan, where Chicago is located, and to the colours of the flag of Chicago.

Dallas Mavericks

The Mavs Jersey draws inspiration from 'Art + Basketball', a unique, one-night event that will intertwine Dallas Mavericks basketball and the Dallas arts community.

Denver Nuggets

It’s a tribute to rainbow-skyline uniforms the team wore in the 1980s, with black instead of blue.

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons City Edition is inspired by the muscle car heritage of the Motor City.

Indiana Pacers

The jersey refers to the city of Indianapolis, and it's full of decals recalling the racing world.

Milwaukee Bucks

The main feature is the “Cream City” across the front, a reference to Milwaukee’s nickname due to the cream coloured bricks used in a lot of the local architecture.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Light blue jersey with “MSP” across the front, serves as both the local airport abbreviation as well as a tribute to Minnesota’s Twin-Cities of Minneapolis (M) and St. Paul (SP).

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC will wear a uniform designed to honour the victims of the terrorist bombings there twenty-five years ago. The waistband of the shorts includes the 'survivors tree', a tree which survived the blasts.

Orlando Magic

Orlando's jersey will be black with orange elements, referring to the local citrus industry.

Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia’s City Edition uniform is inspired by Liberty Bell, a symbol of the city.

Phoenix Suns

This jersey honors the Latino community in Phoenix and the diversity of the state of Arizona.

Portland Trail Blazers

The "Rip City" mantra was first uttered by radio broadcaster Bill Schonely during the Blazers' inaugural season. Since then, the phrase has represented the Blazers, their fans and the entire region.

Sacramento Kings

For the first time in the team’s history, red is featured as a primary color. 'Sactown' is the common pseudonym for Sacramento.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors will wear a uniform that reads “TORONTO” across the front. The font is the same as the Raptors inaugural season uniform.

Utah Jazz

The Jazz will wear the red-to-orange-to-yellow gradient uniform for the last season.

Washington Wizards

The Wizards City Edition features the 'dc' symbol, that stands for the "District of Columbia" which is the federal district containing the city of Washington.
