The new Home kits for Russia, Wales, Sweden, Scotland, Hungary and Northern Ireland

The new adidas jerseys for the National Teams The new Home kits for Russia, Wales, Sweden, Scotland, Hungary and Northern Ireland

The international break has begun and adidas decided to unveil the jerseys for the Euro 2020 that we will see from June 12 to July 12, during the first UEFA European Championship that will be held in 12 different countries. Among the top teams, Germany and Spain have already presented their home kits, joining Russia and Belgium, two other teams already qualified for the Euro 2020. Wales, Sweden, Scotland and Hungary are also joining the list of new jerseys launched by adidas.

The new adidas kits are all art-inspired and they are based on the '80s and '90s kit, abandoning the graphic patterns chosen for the 2016 World Cup jerseys. This choice brought back the enthusiasm around the retro designs, making the German brand's kits the most recognizable of the past seasons. Now adidas decided to change its approach, while keeping its symbols and the search for fantasy from an aesthetic and graphic point of view.

RUSSIA

Russia, which is part of Group I together with Belgium, will take part in Euro 2020 with a brand new shirt. adidas opted for a red jersey with white and blue details on the collar and sleeves, taking up the shades of the Russian flag. In the the Russian jersey, creativity is found on the front, with the tie-dye pattern in shades of red, which creates a slight chromatic movement. The Russian one was the first shirt presented by the German brand, through a video in which the protagonist is Il'zat Achmetov, CSKA Moscow star.

GALLES

Wales won't participate in the next European Championships, but for the remaining matches against Croatia and Azebaigian the team of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Ethan Ampadu will wear a new retro-inspired Home Kit. The vintage touch is especially evident in the yellow, red, green and white cuffs, which recall the colours of the Welsh flag and the new crest, presented in September. The adidas yellow Three Stripes appear on the shorts and the shoulders of the shirt, for an essential look, which - as mentioned - we will not see in Euro 2020.

SWEDEN

Sweden will play against Romania for a place in Euro 2020, in which it would participate with a very traditional yellow and blue shirt. The jersey is similar to the design used for the Wales kit, where the V neck and the trim on the sleeves stand out. The Swedish national team's look is more sober than that of the shirts presented for Germany, Spain and Belgium. It recalls the colours of the flag (blue sleeves) and it features "Sverige" written on the back of the collar. Among the testimonials, there were Albin Ekdal and the former Palermo Robin Quaison.

SCOTLAND

The Scottish national team's jersey is one of the most interesting among those presented by adidas. The shirt is entirely blue - with the red and white trim of the sleeves that stand out - featuring some horiziontal stripes recreating a discolored effect thanks to the tie-dye technique, already used this season for the prematch jerseys of Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid. Unfortunately, however, we will not see this jersey in Euro 2020.

HUNGARY

Hungary is one of the big surprises of these Euro 2020 qualifiers. Hungary is currently second in Group E, with only two points behind Croatia. In the last crucial game against Wales, Hungary will wear its new adidas kit, that took inspiration from the Danube River, The jersey features some big red horizontal stripes. The colour scheme of the entire kit recalls the same colour scheme of the flag (red, white and green). The shirts, the shorts and the socks feature the three stripes creating a chromatic contrast

NORTHERN IRELAND

Last to be presented, the new Northern Ireland kit was previewed from the women's team, during the match against Wales. The jersey is inspired by the design of the jerseys worn by the national team in the 80s, with a texture with diagonal lines darker than the typical green color. Unlike the other kits presented these days the design is rather basic, with a thin collar and the edges of the sleeves not in evidence. The Three Stripes are inserted on the shoulders in white and on the shorts in green, the kit is completed by the green socks with the elastic band of the same tone of the graphic design.
