adidas unveiled 'Uniforia', the Euro 2020 official ball

A pun as the symbol of the new European traveling championships, between borders and modernity

adidas unveiled 'Uniforia', the Euro 2020 official ball A pun as the symbol of the new European traveling championships, between borders and modernity

The 2020 European football Championships are closer than you can imagine: a few days ago was unveiled the name of the artist who will take care of the soundtrack, Martin Garrix, while December 2 will be the moment for the official group stage draw, waiting for the start of the tournament, next 12th June with the inaugural match scheduled in Rome. Yesterday in London adidas presented the official ball of the competition, during a show organized by the German brand in which took part four famous adidas testimonials, N'Golo Kanté, Michy Batshuayi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Moise Kean: it's called Uniforia, nothing but a crux between the words unity and euphoria, those that hopefully will be found during the edition number 16.

Among the details of the new match ball there are certainly the material and the color, the so-called 'Hi-White' model which is broken by black brushstrokes alternating with colored lines, as if to symbolize the borders and the differences that distinguish this competition; but also the inclusion of the GPS coordinates of the 12 cities that will host Euro 2020 (which in addition to Rome, will take place in London, Dublin, Glasgow, Munich, Bilbao, Copenhagen, Budapest, Amsterdam, St. Petersburg, Bucharest and Baku), in a first historic traveling version. As stated by Anika Marie Kennaugh, Adidas product designer:

"When we design an official ball, we always try to reflect the culture, the spirit of the road to be proudly displayed into the stadium."

Uniforia is the last in a long series of match balls designed by adidas, after Beau Jeau (Euro 2016), Tango 12 (Euro 2012), Europass (Euro 2008), Roteiro (Euro 2004), Terrestra Silvestream (Euro 2000) and Questra Europa (Euro 1996).
