Toronto Raptors receive their championship rings Just before the seasonal debut against Pelicans, the 2019 champions showed the $ 150,000 bling designed by Drake

By tradition, during the opening night of the NBA season (and also in other American sports leagues as the NFL and MLB), the defending champions are rewarded with rings that symbolize their triumph before taking the field. And last night it was the turn of the Toronto Raptors, who were expected at the Scotiabank Arena from the first home game against New Orleans Pelicans. Obviously this is not a simple ring like many others, but a true customized work of art, rich in stones and diamonds but also symbols and dates to remember, which on this occasion was created by Baron Rings and designed by Drake, of course.

The ring is also given to the coach, staff members (including the team mascot), and special fans like Nav Bhatia, on this occasion he could of course also go to Drake, the Canadian rapper who over the years has become more than a mere fan of the franchise, up to become a fundamental figure to conquer the first and historic NBA title, last June. A copy of the ring had already been given to the more than 20,000 fans of the former Air Canada Centre, along with a celebratory t-shirt, and obviously a special moment was reserved for the ceremony, a show that you can watch on YouTube.

Talking more specifically about the ring received by Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and Serge Ibaka, it contains 650 diamonds and 16 rubies that represent the number of playoff victories required to win the title. There are also a Toronto Skyline, Scotiabank Arena and team's Chevron logo depictions on it. The values of each ring? About $ 150,000.
