The new Los Angeles Clippers' 'City Edition' jersey

The new Los Angeles Clippers' 'City Edition' jersey The new jersey debuted on the latest Sports Illustrated cover

If until a few seasons ago the Clippers were considered the weak team of the Californian city, now the Los Angeles franchise has become one of the NBA top franchises, especially thanks to the two summer signings: Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Waiting to know if the Clippers will be able to keep up with their aspirations for glory, the team coached by Doc Rivers unveiled the new 'City Edition' jersey and did so in an original way, through the cover of Sports Illustrated. Where there are not only the two new players, but also Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Landry Shamet and Montrezl Harrell.

The detail that was immediately noticed is the Gothic font used to compose the word Clippers, in sight on the chest: it's called Old English and is the result of the collaboration with Californian tattoo and graffiti artist Mister Cartoon. This unusual character, reminiscent of that of the famous video game GTA San Andreas, will probably also be used to brand Staples Center during the seasonal home games, the same that will happen next season on another parquet, that of the franchise also sponsored by Nike of the Brooklyn Nets, that have chosen a creative font inspired by the characters (and colors) of the New York underground.

The jerseys will be worn as many as 17 times during the 2019/2020 season, starting from the home match scheduled next 22 November against Houston (and also during the Christmas game against the Lakers) and will be on sale only starting from 27 November.
