PUMA unveils the new Italy's kit PUMA presented a green jersey, inspired by the Italian Renaissance

On the eve of the matches against Greece and Liechtenstein, PUMA presented the new jersey of the Italian national football team.
The big news is the color choice: the kit will not be characterized by the classic blue, but rather by a dark green, inspired by the Renaissance and the Italian artistic tradition. Starting from this concept, the kit wants to be the base from which to start a new course for the national team. The renaissance of Italy passes through a group of young players - 12 among those in the rally from today in Coverciano are 25yo or less - selected in the last year by Roberto Mancini.

Although it may look unusual, the green color of this shirt is part of the history of the national team. In 1954 Italy wore a uniform of this color during a friendly match won 2 to 0 against Argentina, from that occasion the National Youth teams chose it as the official color. Taking inspiration from the long tradition of youth teams, the main team has chosen to recover one of the symbols of Italian football history.

The collar of the new shirt keeps the blue while the PUMA logo and the FIGC crest stand out in gold in the background. Another element of personality of the knit, in addition to the color, is exactly the background, which presents an all-over graphic inspired by the fabrics and architecture of the Renaissance.
The new kit will make its debut on Saturday 12th October against Greece, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, where the game of 1954 was played. For the fans, a collection featuring Renaissance graphics was created, exclusively for the FIGC. The new green shirt will be the official third kit after March 2020.

The new shirt is already available on the online PUMA store.
