The salaries of the Serie A teams

Juventus dominates the ranking of the highest paid players in the Italian league

The salaries of the Serie A teams Juventus dominates the ranking of the highest paid players in the Italian league

The transfer market and the increased appeal of the Serie A this summer have brought new champions to Italy, which raise the level and, as a consequence, also the top engages upstream. The salaries partly leveled with those of the other European championships are an additional incentive to accept the proposals of the Italian clubs and so the 2019/2020 season the Serie A companies will have to pay 1360 million euros overall. This is a record for our league that sees Juventus as the team with the biggest expenses (294 mln), more than double those of Inter Milan in second place (139). On the lowest step of the podium, Roma, who among the top 35 highest-paid players in the league has only Dzeko (5mln per year) and Pastore (4). SSC Napoli for the first time in the De Laurentiis era exceeds the total 100 million wall (103) less than those of the Milanese clubs.

As reported also by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a surprise is instead that of Atalanta, which will play the Champions League with the 12th top of the Serie A. The 36 million who will receive Zapata and teammates are lower than to the total salaries of teams like Genoa, Cagliari, Bologna and Fiorentina. The team with the lowest payroll is Verona with 25 million.

The ranking shows an evident imbalance not only between the clubs but also among the players. Cristiano Ronaldo's 31 million net is almost four times the 8 earned by his teammate de Ligt.

The power of Juventus is also demonstrated through these data and a ranking that sees 10 Juventus players in the first 11 positions, with only Romelu Lukaku occupying fourth place with 7.5 million more bonuses a year, the same as Pipita Higuain, in third place.
