It's certainly not the first time that St. Pauli has adopted such a courageous choice, given that swimming against the tide is in their DNA: after having dressed camouflage kits or particularly strange and original colors, this time the German club has chosen to play with a jersey that shows off all the most beloved symbols to its fans so that everyone can see them, as confirmed by Bernd von Geldern, head of FC St. Pauli Merchandising GmbH:
'We're so happy to be able to play in shirts bearing symbols that stand for our club and we identify with, the new design pays homage to everyone who represents the values of the club.'
In total there are sixteen symbols on the shirt, almost all visible at the stadium or along the streets of the historic district of Hamburg in the form of stickers, stuck everywhere: obviously the Jolly Roger could not be missing, but also the rainbow flag, the anchor, the symbol of peace, the electric guitar that indicates the punk rock soul and the spotlights of the Millerntor stadium. For many years the team currently in Zweite Liga is in fact known internationally for its ideas and its political inclination, a heralded ideological beliefs and whose supporters have always been great spokesmen.
