FC Barcelona presented the new Away kit for the 2019/2020 season and did so by paying tribute to La Masia, the historic Blaugrana academy of Can Planes where has grown and trained some of the greatest footballers of recent generations of the Catalan club.

The shirt is inspired by a historical model, that of 1979, the year of the first Cup Winners' Cup victory and the foundation of the forge of talents symbol of the past, present and future of FC Barcelona. The kit made by Nike is entirely yellow, the V-neck sweater is characterized by the blue and red diagonal sash that run through the jersey highlighting the Swoosh and Rakuten sponsor. On the inside parte of the neck is inserted the Catalonia flag, to witness the link of the club with the Spanish region at the center of the struggle for independence.

It's a choice of strong personality, in line with the announcement of the first font entirely designed by the club for the next Champions League jerseys. A tribute to the great tradition of the Spanish team and a color scheme used with some variations also in other recent seasons, such as in 2008/2009, the year in which the Guardiola team won the Treble.
