NikeCourt x Roland Garros 2019 collection

The American brand has decided to dare a lot, adopting elements of the past between skeletons, bees and floral patterns

2019 Roland Garros is about to start: the second season Slam tournament that is already underway with the qualifying round, on the Paris red clay court. Taking a look at the kits that have been made for the occasion, the new NikeCourt collection stands out supremely, choosing absolutely unique patterns for a sporting scenario. The American brand opted for 18th century-inspired looks, but reworked in a modern key, a clear homage to the French heritage. The most 'absurd' is undoubtedly the 'toile print' motif that depicts skeletons (with Nike sneakers on their feet!) playing tennis, between fluttering geese and stylized trees, in a rural and somewhat fantasy setting in what looks like a real vignettes.

Something different but equally particular concerns the second male option, a floral pattern on dark shades that will be used not only on polo shirts but also on pants and shorts. To wear it on the field will certainly be the Croatian Borna Coric, also the testimonial of these shots, unlike other two Nike athletes like Rafael Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov.

Another reference to the symbols of the transalpine tradition is present in the third model, a motif based on bees, a royal tribute that will be worn by the reigning champion of the tournament, Simona Halep. The Romanian tennis player will match the t-shirt with a floral skirt too, full of roses and peonies.

Entire the NikeCourt x Roland Garros 2019, also t-shirt without sleeves, sunshades and jacket, is already available here.
