Five football matches to watch this weekend

We're at that point in the season in which some scheduled matches have suddenly become useless, unlike others almost fundamental, unmissable. And while outside it's already full spring we have to select which games to watch and which ones not, carefully missing those that do not matter. What is certain, however, is that we will spend most of the weekend in front of the TV waiting for verdicts, psychodrama and twists.

Juventus - Turin

when: Friday 3/5 alle 8:30pm

where: Allianz Stadium/Sky Sport

Anticipated on Friday in order to avoid the coincidence with the anniversary of the Superga disaster, the Mole derby has become even more interesting given the Granata's moment, which after beating AC Milan now are dreaming of the Champions League spot, only three points away. For its part, Juventus will certainly not give away anything, even if they will once again be in an emergency, and for this reason Allegri could try something unusual. The top scorer race is also up for grabs: Cristiano Ronaldo vs Quagliarella.

Lazio - Atalanta 

when: Sunday 5/5 at 3pm

where: Stadio Olimpico/Sky Sport

It's a clear play-off for the fourth place at the Olimpico scheduled for Sunday at 3am: Lazio with four points (and four positions) less than Atalanta. Both teams are experiencing a very positive moment in the season, and it is no coincidence that they will meet again 10 days later in the Italian Cup final, in the same stadium. Watch out for Gasperini's team, best offensive record in the league.

Galatasaray - Besiktas

when: Sunday 5/5 at 6pm

where: Türk Telekom Arena

One of the many seasonal derbies of Istanbul promises to be hotter than usual: the championship seemed to be closed in favor of the Basaksehir, which however has almost exhausted all the residual advantage and now risks being sensationally approached or reached by the two teams of the capital. Lions or black eagles? We will know it only after the direct clash scheduled for Sunday afternoon, which will see the presence of many former Serie A players: from Muslera to Ljajic, obviously passing through Ricardo Quaresma. 

Olympique Lyonnais - Lille

when: Sunday 5/5 at 9pm

where: Stade des Lumières/DAZN

If Sunday night offers you nothing better, DAZN broadcast the challenge between the second and third team of the French championship: Lyon host Lille that is six points higher in the standings and that at the moment would go directly to the next group stage of the Champions League. It's fair opportunity to watch so many players who could soon change their destiny: from Nicolas Pépé to Tanguy Ndombele and Hossem Aouar. And then there's Memphis Depay, a true idol.

Manchester City - Leicester

when: Monday 6/5 at 9pm

where: Etihad Stadium/Sky Sport

The Premier League is one of the still uncertain championships 180 minutes from the end, with two teams fighting for first place. One of these is Guardiola's Manchester City, which will take the field in the Monday night match knowing the Liverpool's result. That of the Etihad is a trap game, in which the Citizens have everything to lose: Leicester apparently has no precise objectives but offered excellent performances against the big ones. And the Catalan coach knows this well, given that the Foxes have won the first leg.
