Le Coq Sportif is Cameroon's new official supplier

Cameroon is certainly one of the great favorites for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which will be played in Egypt from June 21st to July 19th, for the first time in the summer and for the first time with 24 Nationals at the start, divided into 6 groups. After 20 years of PUMA sponsorship, the French brand Le Coq Sportif announced through a Twitter post that it will be the next technical sponsor of the "Indomitable Lions" national team.

Among the main teams that currently wear uniforms produced by Le Coq Sportif, there are Fiorentina, Saint-Étienne, Gimnasia La Plata in Argentina and Nagoya Grampus Eight, a Japanese J-League team. This is a return as the brand founded in 1882 in northern France has already sponsored Cameroon during the 1982 World Cup.

The team managed by Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert will start as a favorite after winning the fifth African Cup in its history in the 2017 edition, beating Egypt in the final. Cameroon was initially selected as a host country by the CAF, which then decided to move to another location due to delays in the construction of the infrastructure and for security reasons.

The jersey has not yet been presented but this news confirms that PUMA, the first undisputed leader among African teams, is now leaving room for other brands, such as Umbro.
