Cricket in India is an institution, unquestionably national sport and a unifying passion of the second most populous nation in the world. In recent days, Nike has presented the new shirt of the Indian cricket team, on the eve of the World Cup to be held in England and Wales from 30 May to 14 July. Nike will wear one of the national candidates for the final victory, in what is the third most followed sporting event in the world. The jersey is traditionally blue, with details that trace the team's historical moments, such as the dates of the 1983, 2007 and 2011 victories, placed inside the neck. A prestigious shirt that of the Man in Blue, which arouses a lot of respect in the opponents and that, as Captain Virat Kohli says "reflects our style of play, inspired by us and the new India". In fact, Nike demonstrates its attention to technical evolution even in cricket, the design is created to maintain freshness and the right breathing, essential in such an intense sport and in which the games last even more days.

Nike adapts to a long tradition of uniform, reducing the presence of orange, one of the colors in the national flag, inserted only for the heat-sealed seams and for the word INDIA, which occupies the central part of the chest together with the sponsor Oppo, swoosh and to the crest. A shirt is full of details, like that of the button collar, which will also be adopted by the women's national team.

The Indian championship is one of the most important and influential sports leagues in the world, even from a television point of view. The match of 2016 against Pakistan, historic sporting and political rival, is the most watched event in the history of Indian television, ranking that sees the Team India games in all the top 10 positions. Noteworthy cultural importance started with the foundation of the first team in 1792 in Kolkata and developed thanks to the growth of the East India Company throughout the 19th century
