5 movies about Football to get ready for the Super Bowl This weekend there will be the most important sport-media event in U.S.

On Sunday February 4th, the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams will compete for Super Bowl LIII. The final act of the NFL will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (third time in the history of the Super Bowl for the city of Georgia), a wonderful location to host the most important sport-media event in U.S.

The Patriots have qualified for the third consecutive time at the Super Bowl, the fourth in five years and the ninth of the Belichick-Brady era; in this way they become the third team to play three very finals in a row, after the Buffalo Bills 1990-93 and the Miami Dolphins 1971-73. The Rams are at their first Super Bowl since their return to Los Angeles in 2016, (from 1995 to 2015 the franchise had moved to St. Louis) as well as the first from the Super Bowl XXXVI in 2001.
If you are not a fan but do not want to miss the event of the year, we decided to suggest 5 movies about Football to get ready for the Super Bowl LIII:

5. Jerry Maguire (1996)

"Maguire" is undoubtedly the most arguably and quotable movie about the business that revolves around the American professional sport. Tom Cruise plays an agent tired of his work, but Cuba Gooding Jr - who also won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor - a wide receiver of the Arizona Cardinals, steals the show.

4. The Blind Side (2009)

Based on a true story, the film was an unexpected success both critically and publicly. Awarded for Best Movie in 2010, Sandra Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Actress by starring Leigh Anne Yourhy, who adopted the homeless 17-year-old Michael Oher (Quintin Aaron) who was an orphan of a father and a long-suffering crack mother, helping him to become a professional football player. (Oher played in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers).

3. 30 for 30: This Was the XFL (2017)

This documentary film produced by ESPN and part of the 30 for 30 series tells the fast and descendant parable of the X-Football League, better known by the acronym XFL. Founded in December 1999 following a joint venture between the NBC broadcaster and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) wrestling federation, the XFL was created as a "single-entity league": the teams that composed it were not in fact administered individually, but from a single business unit. In management projects, the XFL should have become a strong American football professional, but could not find a stable base of spectators and was therefore closed after just one season, throughout the life of the X-Football League lasted from February 2001 until April of the same year. What differentiated it from the NFL was the administration of penalties for fouls, almost completely eliminated from the regulation. The league of ugly dirty and bad ones did not work at all.

2. Undefeated (2011)

This documentary about the Manassis Tigers football team is in trouble and without hope. But the players do not stop training thanks to the stubbornness of his coach. Oscar winner as best documentary film, demonstrating that often true stories outweigh the imagination of the writers.

1. Any Given Sunday (1999)

«On any given Sunday you're gonna win or you're gonna lose. The point is - can you win or lose like a man?»
(Tony D'Amato/Al Pacino)

A classic movie by Oliver Stone that analyzes the world of the NFL in an ambitious way. Everything takes place in Florida, in Miami where the Sharks are a team in crisis of results after the death of the elderly owner. To raise the fate of the franchise is called Tony D'Amato, an old coach, capable and respected in the environment. The movie is embellished by an absolutely magnificent Al Pacino monologue that has made the movie history.
