Champion is a reference brand in the world of sportswear and it's ready to celebrate a century of history with the launch of the "100 Years for the Team" campaign. The project will tell what it means to be a team in 2019 and how the spirit of the collective is important, collecting the stories of Teams, Clubs and groups, sporting or not, from all over the world. In the course of the year, Champion will tell the stories of many teams, celebrating, at the same time, the fundamental goals of the Brand's history of which the "C" logo is a symbol and icon.

Champion was founded in 1919 in Rochester (NY) and since then has always been synonymous with "Team Spirit", celebrated thanks to this initiative. "100 Years for the Team" will be a global campaign spread through digital channels and social media, will be launched with a video whose protagonist is an athlete who has personally experienced the strength of team spirit: one of the basketball gods, Magic Johnson. In the film, Johnson shares his reflections and ideas on what makes a team really great, him who has lived the highest moment in Champion's sporting history. In 1992 the sportswear brand was the sponsor of the all-time greatest basketball team, the Dream Team of the Barcelona 92 Olympics, which included players like Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Larry Bird, John Stockton, and Charles Barkley.

Champion is a global symbol of comfort and sportiness, has also sponsored clothing for college students and US military uniforms, is now among the brands that are growing and developing more. Despite Champion in the eyes of all is associated to vintage memories, the growth of the American brand starts from the desire to find new technologies and innovative products, the same that allowed inventing the legendary Reverse Weave sweatshirt, patented in 1952 and, from 2018, permanently exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of New York.

Magic Johnson want to reflect on the importance and the meaning of teamwork promoted by the campaign: "I have experienced directly how powerful the energy of people come together to achieve great results". Champion wants to take on a new challenge, looking forward to recognizing how the strength of a team can really make the difference. A great ambitious project, in a significant year like this for the history of the brand.

"100 Years for the Team" will be a global campaign through digital channels and social media, characterized by partnerships with major influencers. David Robertson, Director of Brand Marketing, also believes that the presence of Magic is a way to learn and explore an authentic story of passion and spirit of aggregation, for any group of people or teams. The campaign will support you to get in touch with different experiences and create a community by sharing your own story.
Among the protagonists of the project, there will be the group of British motorcyclists VC London, a collective of women who support, empower and encourage others to do what they love, organizing events, camps, talks, workshops, and lessons, creating a platform for people who promote positivity and community spirit. The goal is fully reflected in the "100 Years for the Team" project. Selected teams will appear in a celebratory video, in which each team can win the chance to participate using the hashtag #Champion100 or on the site
