The new Barcelona's third kit is a homage to the Catalan city

As already happened for the third kits of Atletico Madrid and AS Roma, Nike Football decided to create a very strong connection between the jersey and the city: for this reason, also regarding Barcelona FC, they think about an uniform that has very strong references to city symbols. The Catalan club, in fact, has a very special design: the aerial view of the Eixample area and in particular Avinguda Diagonal create a particular corner and gives a transversal sash that cuts the t-shirt in two tone chromatically, since paler pink turns to a darker red.

The reference to physical place had already been adopted for the creation for the 2018/2019 home uniform (10 vertical stripes as many as the city's districts), and as explained also by the Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director, Pete Hoppins, who said that "the football club is part of the fabric of Barcelona; its influence is visible in every avenue and plaza, and that passion really inspired the team’s 2018-19 collection". And to get a more realistic presentation of the effect that the new third kit can have when worn by players on the court, was made a collabo with PES 2019, which made a short video of Messi & his teammates while playing, though only virtually.
