Take a look at the new Nike LeBron 16 The Swoosh released the new signature for the Chosen One weeks ahead of his debut with the Lakers

These are very busy day for LeBron James that, after having the first workouts with his new teammates in Los Angeles - just a friendly reminder: LBJ signed a four-year deal with the Lakers in the summer - has been busy with his world tour with Nike, that brought him to China, France, Germany, and now New York. And while promoting his “More than an Athlete” campaign, the Chosen One took advantage of the Nike staff company to present the last version of his Nike signature shoe, the LeBron 16.

And after unveiling the first sneaker entirely dedicated to women - the LeBron 16 x Harlem Fashion Show - the new purple&gold number 23 has introduced the version dedicated to him to the world. The new sneaker brings the Battleknit technology to new levels, as testified by Nike designer and long-time LeBron collaborator Jason Petrie. “The knit team at Nike are geniuses,” says Petrie. “I don’t use that term lightly. They are mathematical artists and have created a new knit for the 16 that is strong enough to contain LeBron and successfully reduces any layers in the overall build that could slow him down.”

Another obvious feature of the LeBron 16 is the height, or better, the lowness, as Petrie wanted to follow the player’s will on reducing the height of the sneaker. “The first thing we wanted to do was get a little lower in the cut of the shoe,” says the King. “I wanted to get a little faster, ride a little bit closer to the court and be a little bit more dynamic.” Petrie also added a more ergonomic tongue, to facilitate the fit. On the other hand, the Air Max cushioning has been taken from the LeBron 15 and - after the good feedback from the player - has been perfected according to his desires.

The first “Fresh Bred” colorway for the Nike LeBron 16, with red and black tones, will be available on nike.com September 20.
