As you all know, when Nike succeeded adidas as the supplier for the NBA uniforms last year, it introduced a new series of jerseys that are used by the franchises during the season. It’s the Icon, Statement, and Association - that reflect the soul of the team, the connection with the community and the fierce belonging to the Association - but also the Classic, the uniform that recalls some designs from the past. Yesterday, the Minnesota Timberwolves presented their Classic jerseys for this season, that will mark the return of the… Trees.

In fact, the T-Wolves classic edition is inspired by the Golden Age of the franchise, when it was able to make a playoff appearance for eight consecutive years between ’96 and 2008. In that time, Kevin Garnett and his teammates wore a black jersey, the main and most extended color, interrupted by stripes of green trees, representing the natural environment of Minnesota. Well, those trees are back on this year’s Classic Edition, that will be used for the first time in late October against the Jazz and then four more times during the season.

Honestly, we like this jersey very much and we can’t wait to see some other Classics be back. In the meantime, we enjoy the return of this icon from the past and, most of all, of its “Timberwolves” font.
