This year, there’s an element that unifies all the third kits made by Nike Football and that’s the symbiosis between the clubs and the respective cities. This relationship is particularly strong for AS Roma and the Città Eterna, indissolubly bonded one to each other. And that’s why the Swoosh, that has presented the new third kit for the Giallorossi that will make its debut in the game against AC Milan in San Siro, has homaged the millennial history of Rome by impressing the streets of the city on the new shirts.

“For 2018-19, our third kits have been exploring the cities these clubs represent, and in the case of Rome, what really makes it special is this long and colorful history, full of myth and legend,” explains Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. “We really wanted to delve into that and do it justice with this design.” In fact, on the golden bases of the shirt, there are a series of aerial map views of key moments in Roman history, from ancient times to present, homaging its development and history. There also is the Lupetto, the she-wolf described in the founding myth of Rome, just like in all other kits.

 

Roma will debut the kit on August 31. It will be available September 12 on nike.com, asromastore.com and at AS Roma Store locations.
