The Libertines will be jersey sponsor for a Non-League club

Do you remember when Mogwai decided to sponsor an elementary school football team based in Glasgow? Well, this time another popular band in the UK, The Libertines, will put its logo on the shirt (both home and away) of a team not exactly famous. We are talking about Margate FC, a football club from Kent that plays in the English Non-League, and precisely in that category that includes the seventh and eighth tiers of English football, the Isthmian League (or Bostik Premier Division).

This decision, communicated through the social accounts of the club and especially of Pete Doherty, one of the band's leaders, is born because The Libertines have a few months ago decided to build a particular structure in Margate, by the seaside: at the same time hotel, drink bar (and it seems obvious) and recording studio. This decision could therefore serve to link even more the relationship that the rock group born in England has recently established with the local community. We are almost sure that the shirt, produced by Jako, is likely to quickly become a collector's item.
