Every American sports enthusiast should be familiar with “30 for 30”, the series of mini-documentaries made by ESPN that in recent years told so many stories about NBA basketball, NFL football, baseball, hockey, athletic and much more. Well, according to the news that come from the States, the next episode of the series of documentaries will talk about a very dear topic - and a very interesting one - for all NBA enthusiasts, the former ‘big three’ trio of the Oklahoma City Thunder: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook.

The story behind the former trio of the franchise is well known, especially for all the NBA fans. It a path started in 2008, when the Seattle Supersonics were relocated and rebranded as the Oklahoma City Thunder, and ended in 2012, when Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh’s Miami Heat smashed Durant, Westbrook, and Harden in the NBA Finals, ending the dream of OKC’s stellar trio for good. The 2012 Finals were the beginning of the end, that eventually led to Harden’s departure and then Durant’s one, leaving Westbrook alone with his ego and his boundless basketball talent.

The curious thing, that will surely be featured in ESPN’s documentary, is that eventually, they all got their MVP Awards, even if Westbrook has been the only one doing it with Oklahoma City’s uniform. “Days of Thunder” will tell Westbrook’s complicated relationship with Harden and Durant, what got them together and - most of all - what tore them apart. On the matter, is significative the subtitle of the next “30 for 30” episode: “What if I told you… Thunder buddies weren’t for life?”.
