London based label Own finds inspiration in the ‘golden’ era of creative football kit design for their ‘Post-Season’ collection. It will be the first capsule of an ongoing project, that combines fashion and football juxtaposing vintage Hawaiian shirts with classic 90s football shirts, Own creates a surreal sense of confused comfort.

The Hawaiian shirts are vintage and selected to reference some of the most iconic shirts from the 90s, the garment is hand printed with the chosen shirts insignia; club crest, brand logo, and sponsor resulting 1 of 1 pieces emblematic of a new football culture that exists beyond the pitch and terrace.

The collection references iconic shirts of the 90s whilst the chosen shirt numbers pay homage to the heroes that wore them: Arsenal 1995/96 away ‘lightning bolt’, Chelsea 1995-97, worn by Ruud Gullit, Liverpool 1989-91 ‘Candy’ kit worn by John Barnes, Man Utd 1992-94 ‘Newton Heath’ third strip worn by Eric Cantona, Juventus 1995/96 worn by Del Piero and Borussia Dortmund 1995/96 away worn by Mathias Sammer.

The featured shirts will be available to buy from Own’s online store from 31st May with many more available at the ‘Own Marketplace’ pop-up shop next month at The Hackney Shop, London from June 15-17.
