In the last year, we assisted at the progressive approach between football and the new communication platforms, as social networks and streaming services. And YouTube, that is somehow part of both categories, has just announced a revolutionary feature for football. Thanks to the deal between Google and Mediapro - that currently holds Serie A tv rights for the next three years - the next Brasileirão championship will be broadcasted live on the most famous video platform in the world.

As much as 110 games of the Brazilian league, also with highlights video, will be available in 27 countries in the world, within Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Right now, there isn’t Italy, which rights for the Brazilian league are held by Premium Calcio, but we may see a future involvement of our country. Mediapro has already some experience with YouTube, as it’s been managing the LaLiga channel for a few years, turning it into one of the most successful and visited on the platform. Still, it will be a huge novelty, as it will be the first time an entire championship will be broadcasted live on YouTube. Not a complete news, though, as in the last months Facebook announced it will broadcast Champions League games in the US.

The Brasilerao will be available at youtube.com/brasileirao. In Europe will be available in France, Holland, Switzerland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Belarus, Moldavia, Ukraine, and Russia.
